Often questions are asked about SIMPLE or HOUSE CHURCHES. The following information will serve as a small “snapshot” of what a Simple Church is all about. Our district has several Simple Church Networks currently operating.
- Traditional Church: Major focus is usually on large gatherings.

- Simple Church: The church is formed because of and around community. so the building of relationships becomes the emphasis and natural outflow of being the church.
- Traditional Church: Leadership is usually reserved for those appointed to pastoral roles and positions of authority.
- Simple Church: Leadership is viewed as the shared responsibility of every member in the community.
- Traditional Church: Participation may be limited to only a few because of meeting size and sometimes by ministry philosophy.
- Simple Church: Participation is by every member (including children!) in all gatherings and other expressions of ministry.
- Traditional Church: Personal care for one another is often primarily done by the pastoral staff or those they appoint.
- Simple Church: Personal care for one another ideally takes place through all the members of the group.
